AEW star Sarayas wrestling career, boyfriend and decision to drop Paige name

AEW Dynamite follows a group of professional male and female wrestlers as they compete against each other in in order to emerge victorious.

Saraya, who is also known as WWE's Paige, will make her return to the ring tonight in the wrestling event – a few years on from her last sporting battle.

The former WWE star is one of the most influential women in professional wrestling but how did she start he career and why did she change her name? Here's everything you need to know.

How did Saraya's wrestling career start?

Saraya Jade Bevis is an English professional wrestler who is currently signed to All Elite Wrestling.

Her love for boxing stems from her professional wrestling family who are all wrestlers.

The family, which includes parents Julia Hamer-Bevis and Patrick Bevis, and Saraya's older brothers, Roy Bevis and Zak Frary, run the World Association of Wrestling promotion in Norwich.

Saraya's mother also owns and operates Bellatrix Female Warriors, a women's wrestling promotion also based in the city.

The pro-wrestler's career began at just 10 years old when she would occasionally get in the ring and fight one of her brothers, with her father teaching her wrestling moves.

At the age of 13, she made her debut under the ring name Britani Knight for her family's World Association of Wrestling promotion.

The young wrestler then went on sign for WWE, winning the Divas Championship at the age of 21 as she became the youngest Divas Champion in history.

After facing multiple breaks from the sport due to injuries, she retired from in-ring competition at the age 25.

However, she remained as a contributor to WWE-related programs and fulfilled managing roles until her contract with the company expired in July 2022.

In September, she officially signed with AEW and made her debut for the company at Grand Slam.

Why did the wrestler change her professional name to Saraya?

Earlier this year, the multi-time women's champion changed her Twitter handle to her real name 'Saraya' after departing from WWE.

It's clear that she has done this as a clear intent of taking on a new beginning with WWE's rival company AEW, as she has also scrubbed all her social media history.

After her contract with WWE ran out, she changed her name on all her platform to her original name.

In WWE, Saraya wrestled under the name of 'Paige' as most stars change their name once signed with the organisation.

She decided to don the name of Paige to pay homage to Paige Matthews from Charmed, who the wrestler once said had "a butt chin like me."

Who has Saraya dated?

During her time in WWE, the former Divas Champion was involved in a serious relationship with Alberto Del Rio who she was later engaged to.

However, the couple broke up in 2017.

In March 2017, private nude photos and a sex tape featuring the professional wrestler were leaked online.

Saraya responded to the scandal stating that she was "looking into the future and being happy" and that she was hoping her "mistake could help people's future[s]".

In 2018, she met current boyfriend and Falling in Reverse frontman Ronnie Radke.

The pair are still going strong after four years together and they regularly post each other on their social media accounts.

Recently, Saraya shared an Instagram post that revealed rather unique underwear which had her boyfriend's face on them.

Initially none the wiser to her underwear blunder, Paige shared a glam shot of her makeup, writing: "Thank you Zac Phoenix for always making me look like a walking filter! You da bestest!".

Once she realised the underwear was exposed, she joked: "LOOOOOL forgot about these in the pic but it's f***ing hilarious. Taking my man everywhere with me."
