BBC Weather forecaster Helen Willetts said most of Europe will see higher temperatures over the weekend. Western and southwestern parts of Europe will see the hottest temperatures with Spain expected to reach 35C. Across much of central Europe, temperatures will reach around 20C tomorrow. 

There is still expected to be some rain in parts of central Europe and eastern Europe.

However, there will be periods of warm sunshine for many.

Ms Willetts said: “High pressure has arrived across much of north-west of Europe.

“This is bringing dry weather, drier weather that we have not seen for most of May.

“With it, there will be stronger sunshine, strong sunshine means higher levels of UV rays.”

The BBC Weather forecaster noted where some of the hottest temperatures will be this weekend.

She said: “There will be some strong sunshine and warmth across Iberia this weekend.

“Temperatures here will get into the mid-30s quite widely.

“On the whole, it is a little bit cool for most of us, there will be some showers around.

“The showers will be in Italy and the Alps and will be stretching across to Poland and down in Bulgaria, Balkans and Greece.

“As it is the Medittarean you will expect temperatures to reach the mid-20s.

“Just a little bit more unsettled for Sunday in particular across parts of Italy and northern parts of Spain as well but we have got that 32C in Madrid.”

Across much of central and western Europe, most areas reach at least 20C.

Some areas will experience some rain like the southern parts of France but in Bordeaux temperatures will exceed 25C.

Going into the new week, much of western Europe will still see that hot weather continue.
