A champion bodybuilder contracted coronavirus and got “knocked for six” – as he warns Brits it “doesn’t take any prisoners”.
Former Mr Britain Stuart Core, aged 41, from Plymouth in Devon, was hospitalised and put on a ventilator in January.
The married dad-of-three is back at work and slowly recovering, but is still worn out and “out of breath all the time”.
Stuart told Plymouth Live : “I spoke to my doctor and he said that's typical post-Covid symptoms.
"My doctor has rang me every couple of days to check I'm alright, which is really good. He's from Wembury surgery and constantly checks up on me to see if I need anything.
"I'm on the mend. [But] it does drag out a lot longer than you think."
The gym owner also works in construction and is back at work doing "light duties" but nothing "too hands on".
Before the diagnosis, Stuart was putting away food every couple of hours.
However, along with the fatigue, he now has zero appetite.

Stuart continued: "When it starts affecting people close to you, that's when it hits home. People need to realise that before it gets to that point, before it's too late. It could get a lot worse.
"I've seen it with my own eyes in hospital. If staff start struggling it's going to affect people, not even with Covid but with other things too. They don't have the staff to deal with them, we need to look at the big picture. I do now.
"I think I've had too much time to think!"
Stuart has made a video with University Hospitals NHS Trust to remind others of the impact of the virus – whatever their age and fitness.

Stuart started weight-training at school at the suggestion of his rugby coach.
He was Junior Mr Britain in 1998 and then Junior Mr Universe in 2000.
Stuart took the senior Mr Britain title in 2004 and his honours continued until 2015.
His gym in Plympton has also seen several bodybuilders scoop titles across the country.
