Covid deaths reach million worldwide as pandemic shows no sign of slowing down

The global fatality rate of the coronavirus has surpassed one million victims, the latest statistics have revealed.

The grim figure was announced after Worldometer balanced numbers ascertained from sources including governments and NGOs from around the world.

The grand total of Covid-19 related deaths now stands at 1,000,502 so far.

The Evening Standard reports that the Johns Hopkins Coronavirus Resource Centre has recorded a figure just under one million, with 995,352.
