Gran of teen murdered by evil stepdad begs him to tell her where she is buried

The grandmother of a murdered teenager says her killer must reveal the truth about where the body is buried.

Bernadette Walker, 17, disappeared last July after telling her mum that her stepdad had been sexually abusing her "over a number of years".

On Monday, Cambridge Crown Court found stepdad Scott Walker, 51, guilty of Bernadette's murder having formed an "unholy alliance" with her mum, Sarah Walker, to create a false story that misled the police.

Using Bernadette's phone and social media accounts, the pair sent messages after they reported her missing in order to "lay a false trail".

The couple were both convicted of perverting the course of justice.

After the sentence was given, Bernadette's maternal grandmother, Pat said: “I feel like I’ve been in a coma for a year and just woken up to this dreadful news."

"I can’t believe he killed my beautiful granddaughter but he’s been found guilty.

"Now he must tell us where he has hidden her body so we can give her a decent burial.

"We need to have closure and Bernadette must rest in peace."

Bernadette was last seen on 18 July 2020, the day Walker picked her up from his parents, and since then she has not used her telephone, accessed her bank nor has she been seen at a hospital or surgery.

She was staying at her paternal grandparents "while things calmed down a little" after telling her mum of Walker's sexual abuse.

Bernadette's body has not yet been found but she is presumed dead.

The 61-year-old grandmother said: "I feel like I have two angels on each shoulder, one saying Bernadette’s out there waiting to be found and the other saying she’s not.

"But she‘s not the type of girl to run away. Deep down we know she’s not alive but we just want to know where she is to bring her home.

"He is the only person who knows where she is."

In one of Bernadette's diary entries released yesterday, she penned her worries of being killed if she disclosed Walker's sexual abuse.

The entry shown to jurors reads: "Told my mum about my dad and the abuse. She called me a liar and threatened to kill me if I told the police.
