Human remains found in suitcases left in Denver neighborhood

Denver police on Tuesday found two suitcases containing human remains that were left in a southwest Denver neighborhood.

A 911 caller on Tuesday reported the suitcases left beside the road in the 1700 block of South Java Way as suspicious, according to a Denver Police Department news release. Police responded to the street in the Mar Lee neighborhood and found human remains inside the suitcases.

The Denver Office of the Medical Examiner on Wednesday identified the remains as those of an adult male, though it’s unclear whether the remains have been identified as a specific person.

Denver police are scheduled to share more details about the incident at a news conference at 4:15 p.m. Wednesday.
