Hunt for cyclist spotted riding naked from waist down and ‘talking to strangers’

A cyclist has been spotted riding without wearing trousers or underwear by shocked passers-by.

The flasher is being hunted by police after parkgoers claimed he'd spoken to them while naked from the waist down.

Officers investigating a string of indecent exposures spanning two months have now released a CCTV footage of a man they would like to identify.

Reports were made about incidents on April 9 and April 16 when a man was seen without any trousers or underwear in the Hebburn Riverside Park area, in South Tyneside, ChronicleLive reports.

On the first occasion, the man, who was riding a bicycle, briefly spoke to a member of the public before riding away.

One week later, on April 16, the man in question did not approach anybody but had already left the area when officers arrived at the scene.

Then on Wednesday (May 12), officers received a similar report of a man not wearing trousers or underwear riding a bike in the Wardley Lane area of Gateshead.

A spokesperson for Northumbria Police said: "An investigation into each of the reports, which are being treated as linked, are ongoing and police have now released a fresh image of a man they would like to identify.

"The man could have valuable information that can assist with our enquiries.

The witness was among a group who saw the naked man turn into a school car park weeks later in January, Plymouth Crown Court heard.

Turner denied breaching a court order he got after a terrifying campaign of exposing himself to lone women at night in Exeter – sometimes by a graveyard, PlymouthLive reports.

But a jury found him guilty by a unanimous verdict of breaching the 2016 Sexual Harm Prevention Order after a four-day trial.

The conviction relates to the second incident outside Tavistock Primary and Nursery School on January 9 last year.

Turner, who has been dubbed the "Tavistock Flasher", tried to claim that he had been wearing a flesh-coloured woman’s strappy top near the school, holding the garment up in the dock.
