Jesus Roberto Gonzalez Fierro allegedly strangles his wife in a Centennial library and surrenders to police

A man walked into the Greenwood Village Police Department on Friday morning and told police  that he had just killed his wife, authorities said.

The incident unfolded at about 6:40 a.m. and police called the Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office to check the Castlewood Library,  6739 S Uinta St., Centennial, where the suspect allegedly strangled his wife, according to a news release.

Deputies went to the library, where the victim worked on a cleaning crew, and found her dead,  said John Bartman, a sheriff’s spokesman.

The suspect is identified as Jesus Roberto Gonzalez Fierro, 36, according to the sheriff’s office. He is being held on investigation of homicide. The victim’s name was not released pending notification of family. The case is ongoing.
