‘Killer’ faces jail after ‘stabbing sister’s boyfriend and setting him on fire’
A man is facing decades behind bars after allegedly stabbing to death his younger sister’s ex-boyfriend.
The 22-year-old man, named Adones Betances, is facing 25 years in jail for charges of second-degree murder and manslaughter after the death of 18-year-old Winston Ortiz in New York on Wednesday.
Winston is said to have been dating the 14-year-old sister of the accused and is said to have identified Betances as his killer with his dying breath.
Betances’s young sister is said to have ended her relationship with Winston on Wednesday – before the two men agreed to meet at a building in the Highbridge area of the Bronx later that afternoon.

The New York Post reports Betances allegedly stabbed Winston twice in the back and once in the chest – before dousing him with petrol and setting him on fire.
His victim’s screams alerted neighbours who threw buckets of water over him to combat the flames.
Winston is then said to have told police at the scene of the crime that Betances had been the one who attacked him.
CCTV is also believed to have captured vital information from the crime scene.
The teen was pronounced dead at Harlem Hospital soon after.
Residents have been left shocked by the violent turn of events – while the accused's family have also been rocked by the crime.
The accused uncle told the New York Post: "This whole thing is like a nightmare.
"I don’t know why he did it. I don’t know if I can accept that he did that type of thing. That’s the opposite of who he is."
Betances was ordered to be kept behind bars at Bronx Criminal Court on Friday awaiting trial.
