Morrisons shoppers watch as security guards and youths clash ‘over bike’

Footage has shown chaos erupting inside a Morrisons store, with several people and security guards scuffling at the entrance.

The video shows two security guards wrestling with at least two men.

One, in a grey hoodie, is then pushed towards the entrance as a member of staff wheels a push bike towards the exit of the store.

DVDs from nearby shelves are sent crashing to the floor during the scuffle.

Birmingham Live reports witnesses said the trouble broke out after three youths brought a push bike into the Willenhall store in Birmingham.

West Midlands Police confirmed they were called to the store on December 16 after reports that two security workers had been “assaulted and verbally abused”.

A spokesman for the force said: "We were called to reports of two security workers being assaulted and verbally abused at Morrisons in Willenhall at around 5.15pm on December 16.

"Neither of the men were injured but enquiries are continuing."

Anyone with information should contact police via Live Chat at www.west-midlands.police.uk between 8am and midnight.

Alternatively, call 101 quoting crime reference 20WS/313352C/20.

A spokesman for Morrisons said: "We are assisting the police with their enquiries."

Morrisons have employed marshals to make sure people are maintaining a social distance inside their stores as the coronavirus cases continue to rise.

The supermarket is also urging customers to wear face coverings in line with the government guidelines.

It comes after a Morrisons worker’s racist rant was caught on camera in a separate incident.
