Mum found dead with all her teeth removed after going abroad to visit boyfriend

A mum-of-two was found dead with all of her teeth missing just a day after her mother reported her missing.

Lizbeth Flores, 23, an American woman, had gone to Mexico to visit her boyfriend, it has been reported.

Her mum, Maria Rubio last had contact with Lisbeth on August 9.

That day she went to the Mexican border city of Matamoros and was due to return to her Texas home in Brownsville later that night, reports Mail Online.

On August 10, Maria reported her missing after contacting the he Brownsville [Texas] Police Department.

The 23-year-old's body was discovered on August 11 with signs of torture.

According to investigators, a part of Lisbeth's scalp had been removed and her teeth had been taken out by force.

There were also signs of being beaten with a rock found at the scene.

Her body was also said to be covered in bruises.

Ms Rubio said she is haunted by the idea of the pain her daughter must have gone through and is hoping to repatriate her remains.

In an interview with Telemundo, Maria said: "Losing a child is like having your heart ripped out.

"I feel very sad for what they did to my daughter. How they left her is what pains me. The pain that my daughter went through there at that time is what pains me."

The distraught mum is seeking help from US and Mexican officials in a bid to bring her daughter's body back from Mexico.

As of Monday, no arrests have been made.

The FBI is conducting a thorough investigation for the US citizen, reports KRGV-TV.

Ms Flores was a graduate of Los Fresnos High School and leaves behind two children.
