Parents warned some Halloween face paints could burn or leave you infertile
Face paints that can cause burns and infertility are on sale ahead of Halloween.
Sales of crayons and make-up are soaring as Brits gear up for Saturday’s fun.
But some products could cause severe reactions or leave children scarred for life.
Several have already been seized containing high levels of chemicals which can lead to poisoning or infertility.
Many more are available online and in markets and stores.
Several items have been flagged up by the EU’s rapid alert system for unsafe products.
One includes a vampire face painting kit which contains high levels of phthalates – chemicals that can cause skin reactions.
Long-term exposure could lead to infertility.
Another set of make-up crayons had high levels of aluminium.
Last year 5% of Halloween injuries were allergic reactions.

CE Safety’s Gary Ellis warned dodgy items could cause an anaphylactic reaction.
The warning added: “If the make-up is applied to the face and possibly neck area, any reaction is likely to be more severe as the airways are there.
“While responsible brands work tirelessly to adhere to costly health and safety standards, the lack of regulation in popular online marketplaces is now posing a threat.”
