The officer and three other plainclothes officers were put on administrative leave after videos of their violent arrest emerged on social media.

The incident, which took place at Glendale Galleria in Los Angeles on Saturday evening, left shoppers traumatised when they recorded the arrest inside Dick's Sporting Goods.

In the video, the 17-year-old teen is being pressed on the floor by three plainclothes officer, who can be seen throwing punches at his body.

That’s when the uniformed officer arrived and kicked him.
