Royal fans gush as Charlotte looks like mini Queen in family Christmas snap

A festive snap of the Cambridges and their children has led excited royal fans to gush over Princess Charlotte's likeness to her great-gran Her Majesty the Queen.

William and Kate recently released the photo with their three children and Princess Charlotte went royally viral as people picked out similarities between her and the Monarch.

The happy-looking six-year-old was pictured sitting beside her father Prince William while her two brothers, Prince George, eight, and Prince Louis, three, were sitting close to their mother, OK! reported.

Breaking the usual tradition of Christmas photos in previous years, the Cambridges were dressed in summer outfits out of formal wear, Mirror Online reported.

"Delighted to share a new image of the family, which features on this year’s Christmas card," wrote the Cambridges.

Princess Charlotte was sporting a blue gingham-patterned dress for the photoshoot and looked incredibly serene in front of the camera with her hands crossed in front of her.

Fans quickly picked up on Charlotte looking a lot like her great grandmother, the Queen and even had Her Majesty's typical pose.

"What a handsome family. You can really see Queen Elizabeth in Princess Charlotte," one person wrote on Twitter.

"Charlotte is such a cute princess, she is the mini version of the Queen," a second follower commented, while another added: "Charlotte is the image of the Queen. Adorable."

The photo comes just days after Kate hosted a charity carol event, Together at Christmas, at Westminster Abbey to honour those who have given their support to communities in need during the pandemic.

It was a rare occasion where Kate was seen at a public event with the rest of her family including her parents and brother and sister.

The Cambridges' children were not at the event and a royal expert claimed it's because they do not like to put their kids into official engagements.

"William and Kate have a rule that they do not take the children on any official engagements," said Duncan Larcombe about their absence at the carolling event earlier this week.

"It was on a school night and they are pretty strict. The children are in a rather strict regime so that might have been the reason, but the fact it was a televised official engagement shows that William and Kate are still reluctant to focus too greatly officially on their family and their children."
