Thug jailed after posing as Amazon delivery driver to attack man with shotgun
A thug who disguised himself as an Amazon delivery driver to attack his victim with a loaded shotgun has been jailed.
Vicente Forde, 32, was sentenced at Croydon Crown Court to six years and nine months in jail and the firearm used in the incident was ordered to be destroyed.
In the clip shared by Metropolitan Police, Forde was seen wearing a high-vis jacket and carrying an empty Amazon-labelled parcel on July 13, 2020.
He pressed the doorbell and pulled out a sawn-off shotgun while waiting for the victim to open the door.
The victim – who was at home with his young daughter and on the phone to a pal at the time – heroically tackled Forde down his pathway and disarmed his weapon.
Both of them fell onto the floor while the victim's dog followed his owner closely.
During the attack, the victim threw the shotgun under a nearby parked car and Forde repeatedly punched the man, breaking his nose.
Forde was then restrained with the help of some builders working in the area.
Police rushed to the address in Crystal Palace, south London and immediately arrested Forde and hauled into custody while his victim was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment for bruising and a broken nose.
The shotgun was seized, where police found it to be viable and loaded with two live cartridges.
Detective Constable Imran Hansraj, of the Met's Specialist Crime Command, said: "Vicente Forde's sentencing has removed him from the streets for a substantial amount of time, and I've no doubt that London will be all the safer for it.
"The victim had no idea what was about to unfold when he saw what he thought was a delivery man bringing a parcel to his address."

Andrew Caird, from the Crown Prosecution Service, said: "This was a completely unprovoked attack on an innocent householder.
"The victim simply opened his front door to retrieve what he thought was a delivery before he was aggressively set upon by a stranger.
"Given that the shotgun had been loaded, it is incredibly lucky that nobody was fatally injured."
