Virgilio San Andres, volunteer sport coach at Arapahoe High School, arrested for sex crime.

A man who was a volunteer sport coach at Arapahoe High School has been arrested for allegedly having sexually explicit conversations on social media and other online platforms with a female student.

Virgilio San Andres, 22, has been arrested on suspicion of unlawful electronic sexual communication by a person in a position of trust, according to the Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office.

An investigation began in January when the school’s resource officer received a tip about the allegation, according to a news release. Andres was a volunteer coach of a club sport.

Investigators found evidence that Andres engaged in electronic conversation with a student that was sexual in nature, the sheriff’s office said. On Friday, Andres was arrested and booked into the Arapahoe County Jail.
