Woman ‘killed dad and boyfriend’ before telling police nailgun ‘malfunctioned’
A woman has been accused of killing both her dad and boyfriend after reportedly becoming suspicious of her story that a nail gun had gone haywire and shot dead the pair.
Investigators in the US state of West Virginia say 27-year-old Hillary Dennison is accused of murdering her father and her other half after initially claiming it was down to a malfunction of a nail gun.
Dennison has been charged with two counts of murder over the deaths of Harold Dennison, 62, and 26-year-old Beau Wasmer.
She is being held in a West Virginia jail as a magistrate cannot set bond on murder counts and faces life in prison if she is convicted.
The court was told that on February 27, the police responded to a home in Williamstown, a city in West Virginia, where two people had been shot.
Mr Dennison was pronounced dead at the scene while Mr Wasmer was rushed to Marietta Hospital but later died.
It is then stated that Dennison initially made claims to the police that a nail gun had gone out of control, causing the fatal injuries, according to a criminal complaint filed at Wood County Magistrate Court.

Police say that the accused later admitted that she intentionally shot at her dad and boyfriend, killing the pair, according to the complaint.
Officers found evidence at the scene to confirm it was a gunshot from a pistol that killed the two victims.
Witness said they also saw Dennison trying to give aid to the two men after the shooting.
Officers also found a second magazine on Hillary Dennison when she was arrested, according to the criminal complaint.
It remains unclear at this stage if there was even a nail gun in the property
