A cancer survivor has hailed a “miracle cure” that saved her from looking like the “Elephant Woman”.
Jade McGuinness, from Liverpool, was diagnosed with a cancerous tumour which she described as "really scary".
The 31-year-old was originally told the lump in her neck was a swollen lymph node, but after five scans she was finally diagnosed with lymphoedema, reports the Liverpool Echo.
The lump was successfully removed, but this led to further complications – a swelling of the face that she was set to live with for the rest of her life.
She said: "The whole process was really scary, from when I first had the tumour diagnosis to having lymphoedema.
"When they removed the tumour I bought the doctor a bevvy and was so happy that the operation was a success.
“However, I was devastated to find out that I’d have a swollen face for the rest of my life. I looked like the Elephant Woman."
Jade didn't know where to turn after her life-changing diagnosis until a chance meeting in a clinic where she met scientist Kirsty Smith, who told her about a “groundbreaking new solution”.
Kirsty was in the process of launching Liquid Lipo International, a solution for fat and swelling reduction, and after launching in 2020, Jade was one of her first clients.
The Liquid Lipo gel is a non-needle, non-surgical treatment that works by wrapping the gel over the area of fat or swelling then entering the skin and binding fat cells to shrink the fat.
Jade bought a neck strap and began to use thermogenesis gel on her neck and then the new Hydra Oz cream on her face.
With “incredible results” after just one hour, Jade broke down and cried as she had found a “miracle” treatment after being told by the NHS there would be no cure or long-term solution.
She added: "When I saw the instant results I was completely overwhelmed! I thought I’d have to deal with my swollen face for the rest of my life but this was my saviour.
"People forget that the way you look and feel has a major impact on your mental health and there are so many people out there who don’t feel comfortable in their skin.”
Jade has now set up Liquid Lipo Liverpool. She said: “I can’t state enough how these products have changed my life and now I want to help as many people as possible.
"I had been through such an ordeal and then had to deal with the fact I’d have a swollen face for the rest of my life, but meeting Kirsty and discovering Liquid Lipo saved me.
“Now I want to help anyone who is suffering from lymphoedema or weight issues.”
