A furious Sir Lindsay Hoyle tore into Tory MPs this lunchtime for interrupting Commons proceedings to cheer an SNP MP crossing the floor to sit with them.<\/p>\n
Lisa Cameron announced her defection from the SNP to the Conservatives last week, in a major upset to the party\u2019s pending conference.<\/p>\n
Announcing her decision, she slammed the SNP Westminster group\u2019s \u201ctoxic and bullying\u201d treatment.<\/p>\n
She also said she felt \u201cfear and intimidation\u201d after defending the teenager who was the victim of sexual advances by former group whip Patrick Grady MP.<\/p>\n
This lunchtime she formally “crossed the floor” to join her new colleagues on the green Government benches.<\/p>\n

More info<\/p>\n Humza Yousaf has said she should do the \u201chonourable thing\u201d and resign, adding he is confident the SNP would win the by-election.<\/p>\n Ms Cameron has rejected calls for a by-election and explained she has changed her views on Scottish independence as she no longer feels the Scottish Government is being run competently.<\/p>\n Rishi Sunak championed his newest MP, saying he was delighted about her defection.<\/p>\n He said: \u201cShe is a brave and committed constituency MP. Lisa is right that we should aim to do politics better, with more empathy and less division and a dedication to always doing what we think is right.<\/p>\n \u201cI look forward to working with her on the disability issues she has championed so passionately in parliament, and on the issues that really matter to her constituents in East Kilbride, Strathaven and Lesmahagow.<\/p>\n \u201cHer decision is a sign that we are the party for those who will make constructive, long-term decisions for a brighter future for the whole of the UK.\u201d<\/p>\n
