Elon Musk has questioned how people will \u201cfind meaning in life\u201d when artificial intelligence makes every job redundant.<\/p>\n
The boss of X\/Twitter claimed AI will be the \u201cmost disruptive force in history\u201d.<\/p>\n
Speaking to Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, he said: \u201cThere will come a point where no job is needed. You can have a job if you want a job for personal satisfaction but the AI will be able to do it.\u201d<\/p>\n
He added: \u201cI don\u2019t know whether that makes people comfortable or uncomfortable.\u201d<\/p>\n
The room, filled with business leaders, members of the media as well as the Chancellor of the Exchequer Jeremy Hunt, burst into laughter.<\/p>\n
Mr Musk added: \u201cOne of the challenges will be how do we find meaning in life.\u201d<\/p>\n
He said computers will be able to do jobs that humans find \u201ctedious\u201d or \u201cchallenging\u201d.<\/p>\n
The Prime Minister discussed the speed of the technology\u2019s development, China\u2019s invitation to the UK\u2019s AI Safety Summit and the risks of AI.<\/p>\n
Mr Sunak, who rolled up his sleeves for the interview, which will air on Mr Musk\u2019s platform X, said his job is to \u201cprotect the country\u201d by testing AI models.<\/p>\n
