A 20-year-old stray cat loved and fed by shoppers at a local Tesco supermarket has finally been caught and is now looking for his forever home.

Many people have tries to capture Winston the limping feline, but after numerous tries and even a broken ankle, Stacey Spelman and her daughter managed to get ahold of him and send him off for veterinary help. Now under the care of Betley Cat Rescue, Winston has had his rotting teeth removed and his blood checked.

Jo Barratt, a member of the rescue team, told StokeOnTrentLive: "Winston's a lovely lad. He's had quite a lot of treatment from the vet and is doing great."

She added that he might need steroids and only has a few teeth left due to most being removed because they were causing him pain. "He's got ear problems so he's having drops for that and we haven't managed to identify the limp as nothing came up during his examination.

"Other than that he's in pretty good nick because he's been well fed, although cats need so much more than just food. Winston has been using the litter tray so he must have been house trained during some point in his life.Ideally, we want to get him a home as soon as possible because he's such a beautiful lad.
